Communications Manager

Status: Full Time (40 hours/week), Salaried
Reports To:  CEO/President
Salary Range: $105,000 – 120,000 and benefits
Location: We are a Minnesota-based organization that offers flexibility in work location. While we provide options to work in-office, your desk could be anywhere in the United States if you have reliable internet access.

We seek a Communications Manager to develop and execute Stratis Health’s external communication strategies that enhance brand visibility, engage stakeholders, and drive positive narratives.

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

The Communication Manager leads Stratis Health’s external communication strategy development and implementation and serves as a management team member, reporting to the President & CEO.

  • Plan and execute the organization’s overall communications program:
  • Develop and implement corporate communications plans and strategies.
    • Serve a communications planning and implementation role on project teams.
    • Serve as steward of Stratis Health’s brand, ensuring consistency, integrity, and mission alignment across all communication channels.
  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral and messaging including, but not limited to newsletters, brochures, websites, and social media.
  • Position Stratis Health as a thought leader, locally and nationally, strategically developing articles, news releases, and social media posts related to the organization’s work and staff.
  • Manage media, government, and community and public relations.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of the corporate website, including methods to deliver messages, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensure that all content is current and relevant.
  • Track and measure the level of engagement with Stratis Health over time.

  •  A professional with demonstrated communications, public relations, journalism, or experience in a related field.   • Able to demonstrate a superior ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external publications.
  • Experienced in translating concepts and ideas into clear, concise, and compelling narrative.
  • Experienced with technical and/or proposal writing, copyediting, and proofreading.
  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with internal and external teams to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Able to communicate with leaders in multiple sectors, professions, and community settings in writing and presenting and 1:1 engagement and facilitate groups and skilled at building and maintaining relationships.
  • Comfortable moving rapidly between high level strategy thinking and planning, and detailed implementation work.
  • Maintain and apply a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.
  • Experience in supervising staff and consultants.
  • Able to find joy in problem-solving/pivoting/finding solutions.
  • Able to follow, critically evaluate, and improve upon current processes.
  • Able to understand the importance of matching appropriate tools, methods, or technological solutions to the problem at hand.
  • Someone with a strong commitment to health equity, diversity, inclusion, racial justice, and addressing the systemic factors that produce health inequities and health disparities.
