Health Equity
“Health equity is achieved when every person has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.”
– Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Stratis Health is committed to ensuring that quality health care is delivered in a fair, inclusive, and just manner to improve the life of individuals, communities, and populations. To do this, health equity is at the center of our work with the operating premise being “without equity, there cannot be quality.” The lack of equity in health care planning and delivery exacerbates health disparities for people and communities with a higher risk of conditions that negatively impact health.
To advance health equity, we work with community and national partners to address structural inequities such as racism, ageism, sexism, and xenophobia. Improving health is a powerful tool to make lives better and transform communities. Central to our work is a transformation framework emphasizing a fundamental desire to advance health equity. We believe that when progress is made toward health equity, desirable outcomes are possible because health care becomes more optimized and well-coordinated, and costs are efficient.
