Stratis Health prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which its leaders view as the organizational foundation necessary to effectively and credibly engage in programmatic efforts to improve health equity. As part of our commitment to DEI, we work to recruit exceptional talent who come from traditional and nontraditional backgrounds and experiences. As a result of a sharpened focus on DEI over the past few years, our organization’s staff and board are now more racially diverse, having shifted from 1% of staff identifying as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color) in 2020 to 18% today, and from 12% of board identifying as BIPOC to 40% today. For both staff and board, people of color are in leadership roles in management (staff) and officers (board) with a diversity of thought. In our 2023 Mission Effectiveness Survey, conducted every three years, 80% of our close partners believe that health equity is a priority for our organization. These Minnesota and national partners see Stratis Health taking concrete steps to achieve positive health outcomes through our work, widen our scale, and reach more people.

We continue to learn and grow on our organizational DEI journey, informing our own internal work, which enables us to serve the communities of practice that we are trying to reach.
