Health care leaders Reuben Moore and Todd Stivland, join the Board of Directors of Stratis Health, a Bloomington-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to collaborate and innovate to improve health.
New Board members were selected for their rich experience in driving health care transformation, equity, quality and access. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to complement the diverse thought leaders on the current Board of Directors.
Reuben Moore, EdD, MBA, is president and executive officer for Minnesota Community Care. As a health industry leader, Mr. Moore has championed consumer experience, innovation, and fundamental execution throughout the healthcare eco-system, adapting to changing industry dynamics to help organizations in the public and private sector rethink strategies, execution methods, and value concepts. As a community leader and former chair of the MNsure health industry advisory committee, he has driven strategies and policies that improve health care access for all Minnesotans. His lifelong passion for improving health equity and community health underlies all of what he does, from leading public health initiatives under the Minnesota Department of Health to serving as board. treasurer for Southside Community Health Services, a Federally Qualified Health Center, to his current role.
Todd A. Stivland, MD, is chief executive officer and founder of Bluestone Physician Services, the innovative care model he developed to provide high-quality primary care services onsite to residential care facilities and group homes. Dr. Stivland oversees all aspects of the company, growing it to become the largest provider for assisted living patients and group homes in the nation, with operations in four states serving 20,000 high-risk patients. He has practiced the full scope of family medicine, including onsite home visits, inpatient hospital care, OB, and general office practice. Dr. Stivland is active in state and national health care reform and has served on the Minnesota Governors Health Care Finance Task Force.
The new Board members’ three-year terms of service run January 2021-December 2023. They replace outgoing Board members, Catherine Hinz, MHA; Steve Kolar, MD, FACP; Craig Svendsen, MD; and Mike Wilcox, MD. The Stratis Health Board of Directors includes diverse representation of physician and nurse leadership, health system and health plan leadership, business sector expertise, academics and research, and consumers.
