Week 1 – Enhancing Equity Using Social Determinants of Health and Patient-generated Health Data
Kelly Cronin, MPH, MS, Deputy Administrator, Center for Innovation and Partnership, Administration for Community Living, US Department of Health and Human Services
Kelly Cronin serves as deputy administrator and director of the Center for Innovation and Partnership at HHS’s Administration for Community Living. She has been with HHS since 2001 in a variety of roles at the FDA, CMS, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, which she helped establish as its first employee. She coordinated health IT programs and policies for several years with health care payment and delivery system reform. In her current role, she oversees programs to support Medicare beneficiaries’ access to low-income subsidies, health insurance counseling on their benefit options, as well as State No Wrong Door systems to enable access to long-term services and supports the state efforts to enable access to assistive technologies. Her Center also leads efforts to develop and integrate networks of community-based organizations into health care delivery to address social determinants of health. She holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics and a Master of Science in health policy from the School of Public Health and Health Services at George Washington University.
Dan Behrens, MHA, Manager, Population Health, Allina Health
Dan serves as manager of Allina Health’s Population Health and Health-Related Social Needs Program. He previously managed CMMI’s Accountable Health Communities cooperative agreement for Allina Health. Over 10+ years, he has designed and implemented sustainable and reliable care management, population health processes, and measurement tools across the care continuum. Dan has a BS in Health Science Services Management [Drake University] and a Master’s of Healthcare Administration [University of Minnesota].
Jennifer P. Lundblad, PhD, MBA, President and CEO, Stratis Health
Jennifer is President and CEO of Stratis Health, an independent non-profit organization that leads collaboration and innovation to improve health. Dr. Lundblad has an extensive background in leadership, organization development, and program management in both non-profit and education settings. She has a BA in speech communication and economics from Macalester College, an MBA in public and non-profit management from Boston University, and a PhD in education with a focus on training and organization development from the University of Minnesota. Her dissertation research was “Teamwork and Safety Climates in Small Rural Hospitals,” and she has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to health quality and organizational change. Dr. Lundblad is a member of the national RUPRI (Rural Policy Research Institute) Health Panel and serves on various other national and local boards and in committee leadership positions. She has an adjunct assistant professor appointment at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
Andrew Terech, MS, LAC, Director, Social Determinants of Health, Contexture
Andrew is the director of Social Determinants of Health for Health Current, Arizona’s Health Information Exchange. He is a licensed associate counselor and has over 13 years of experience working in various leadership roles in behavioral healthcare and integrated healthcare settings. His passion for helping people led him to Health Current where he is leading a team to implement a statewide SDOH referral program aimed at improving access to vital social services.
Week 2 – Digital Transformation: Applying Data to Improve Health
Raj Harapanahalli, MS, Vice President, Innovation and Insights, Medtronic
Raj leads the Innovation and Insights organization at Medtronic developing enterprise-level solutions for Digital Health, Connected Care, Master Data Management, and Advanced Analytics. Prior to Medtronic, Raj held various leadership roles at Roche/Genetech to develop digital health solutions covering multiple disease areas (Oncology, MS, AMD, etc.), leveraging sensors, wearables, IoT, and mobile devices. Raj led the DIS Software Center of Excellence focused on developing and commercializing decision support software products (NAVIFY) for health care professionals and researchers. He was the director of application services at Genetech for U.S. Commercial and Medical Affairs IT at Genentech. He led the technology strategy and architecture for the multi-year transformation program for all commercial IT systems by implementing cloud and mobile technologies to support the growing product pipeline. Raj has over 25 years of IT and product development experience in healthcare/Life Sciences/HiTech industries and has an MS in software engineering.
Christopher Kunney, CPHIT, CPHIMS, MSMOT, Senior Vice President of Digital Acceleration, Divurgent
Christopher Kunney currently serves as senior vice president of Digital Acceleration for Divurgent. He’s responsible for developing new business and expanding existing contracts, He recently served as chief strategist and business development for DSS, Inc.’s Juno EHR product line. Mr. Kunney has served as instructor-at-large for the Morehouse School of Medicine Master’s Degree Pipeline Program – Healthcare Informatics, Emory University Healthcare IT Certification Program and is an industry advisor to the Minority Business Development Agency Business Center Atlanta, and the Georgia Institute of Technologies HIT Cluster Program, ITT Technical Institute, Georgia State University, and DeVry University Atlanta. He also serves on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce HIT Public Policy and Bioscience Taskforce and Health IT Leadership Council. Mr. Kunney was also selected as a reviewer for the 2014 CMS Innovation Awards and served as an advisor to the Georgia Hospital Association ICD-10 Transition Forum, and he is currently an advisor and industry thought leader for the Georgia Hospital Association Healthcare IT Executive Leader Forum, Village Capital Health Technology, and “The Combine” Technology Business Accelerators. He is a member of Governor Deal’s High Demand Career Initiative IT Task Force.

Andrew founded his own IT consulting company in 2002 at the age of 17, focused on helping small businesses use technology to improve efficiency in a secure manner. Andrew has had roles in IT consulting and healthcare including network systems administrator and hospital IT manager and HIPAA security officer, where he implemented electronic medical record systems, evaluated workflows and moved them from paper to electronic processes. In his current role as a solutions engineer for CloudCover, Andrew works with organizations of all sizes to secure their networks.

At Fairview Health Services, Jim leads the cybersecurity, governance, risk, compliance, service delivery, network, unified communications, end-user services, and computer, cloud, storage, and database teams. Prior to joining Fairview Health Services, Jim was the Chief Information Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, the second-largest municipal health system in the nation with an integrated system of 19 health centers and four hospitals. Jim has also served as the CIO at Kaiser Permanente Orange County, the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Technical Services at Hawaii Health Systems Corporation in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Enterprise Information Services Systems Manager at Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, California.

Dave has over 25 years of experience in the IT healthcare industry. Dave’s experience spans medical imaging development, medical device manufacturing, clinical research, FDA and ISO auditing, IT Cardiology, IT Audit, and cybersecurity. In his current role, Dave is responsible for developing capabilities to reduce and monitor IT risk through improved governance practices, automated third-party risk management, and management of cybersecurity risk. Before joining Fairview, Dave worked in various roles and capacities at Boston Scientific/Guidant, including software auditing, clinical research, and manufacturing systems. Dave started his technology career in 1991 as a software engineer responsible for developing medical imaging and PACS systems. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Dave served as a research scientist in the U.S. Army for five years. While serving in the Army, Dave designed and developed carcinogenicity studies and monitoring systems aimed at protecting soldiers and the environment. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Math and Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science.

Ashok has over 20 years of cybersecurity experience including identity and access management, SSO, and LDAP infrastructure, including over four years in healthcare IT. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, math, and computer science and a Master’s degree in Computer Applications.
Shawn Kammerud, MS, Chief Information Security Officer, Minnesota IT Services, partnering with the Minnesota Department of Health
Shawn is the chief information security officer at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Before working at MDH, he served as the chief information officer and chief information security officer for 12 years at a regional medical center. Shawn’s educational background includes a Master, Bachelor, and Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Information Technology.
Jim Roeder, BS, Vice President of Information Technology, Lakewood Health System
Jim has served at Lakewood Health System since September 2006, where he oversees three departments at Lakewood Health System – Business Intelligence, Clinical Informatics, and IT. Jim earned a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Computer Information Systems from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Certified in Windows Security, Citrix, and Cisco Meraki, Jim has worked in the IT field since 1999. Jim was raised in Milnor, North Dakota, and currently resides in Wadena, Minnesota. He has a passion for cybersecurity, strategic planning, and server virtualization. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, traveling, camping, and playing guitar.

Betsy Keenan-Brown has focused her entire career on the world of healthcare data and technology. After spending 17 years working for health systems in a variety of leadership roles, she joined the LogicStream team to advance the company’s analytic capabilities. Betsy leads a team of clinical informaticists and data scientists developing new artificial intelligence and machine learning models in the LogicStream web applications and with data services partners. In her spare time, Betsy enjoys playing violin and bass guitar in local bands and theater pit orchestras, collecting vinyl and house plants, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Satin completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Bioethics following his residency in the University’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, medical school at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, a Robert Jones Scholarship in Philosophy to the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, a philosophy degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a health sciences degree from Marianopolis College in his hometown of Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Satin is a practicing physician and associate professor in the University of Minnesota’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. At the Medical School, he directs the core courses in Ethics, Law, Policy, Healthcare Finance, and Quality Improvement. He has served on several AMA workgroups making quality measures for CMS and has consulted internationally on issues in Pay-for-Performance. He currently chairs the Risk adjustment and Segmentation Committee of Minnesota Community Measurement and serves on its Measurement and Reporting Committee. He also serves on the boards of his Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, Stratis Health, and the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety.
Dr. Satin’s research interests span the field of health systems science, with publications on quality improvement, public health, behavioral economics, shared decision-making, and topics in bioethics.

Dr. Dwivedi is a University of Minnesota assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, chief clinical officer at the Community University Health Care Center, and vice chair for community engagement and advocacy. She received her medical training at Vaishampayan Memorial medical school in India and completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Minnesota. She was also honored to serve as chief resident in family medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Dwivedi is involved with several leadership and quality committees all across Minnesota and serves as a director at large within the executive committee of Minnesota AFP. She is an educator and likes to create new models of teaching and culturally competent care deliveries. Her special interest in education includes global health and culturally sensitive care. She is also invested in improving health disparities and mentoring medical students and residents.
