Culture Care Connection

Despite ranking among the healthiest states in the nation, Minnesota consistently ranks in the bottom half of states with regards to health care disparities. Culture Care Connection (CCC) is an online learning and resource center, developed by Stratis Health, aimed at supporting health care clinicians, staff, and leaders in their ongoing efforts to address health care disparities.

Actions

  • Offer Implicit Bias Quiz to assist health professionals discover more about implicit bias and learn what they can do to help correct bias and provide the best health care possible and co-designed and co-led implicit bias training for a large integrated health care delivery system
  • Maintain Diversity in Minnesota Information Sheets (currently representing 19 different cultural communities) that help organizations and health care clinicians learn more about the background, religious and cultural believes, communication preferences, and common health issues of the predominant minority populations in Minnesota
  • Develop and disseminate the action-oriented Culture Care Connection newsletter for those working to deliver culturally competent care and reduce health care disparities in their patient populations
