The Stratis Health Quality Improvement Basics Course is designed to introduce the staff of health care organizations to the concepts of quality improvement. Developed with assistance from The Paramedic Foundation, the Rural EMS Quality Improvement Basics course links to relevant parts of that program while also providing rural-relevant EMS examples providers can appreciate using the same approach.
This course is designed to suit the needs of rural EMS providers by dividing the topic of quality improvement into three distinct levels that build on each other:
- Level 1 – Improvement Awareness, is appropriate for all EMS providers. It will better explain why we engage in quality improvement and what it can mean for you, your organization, your community, and, most importantly, your patients.
- Level 2 – Improvement Implementation, will provide more details and training for people who want to understand how to engage in quality improvement projects led by others.
- Level 3 – Improvement Leader, is directed towards those with motivation and desire to lead others in implementing improvement initiatives.
This project is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $740,000 with 0% financed with non-governmental sources.
